Five Things That Don't Belong On Your Resume

If it has been a while since you have looked for a job, or you haven’t had any luck with your current resume, it might be time to makes some changes. If your resume contains information that makes you appear out of touch or unprofessional, consider changing the following information:

An Overload of College Information

Do you have information about your fraternity or sorority on your resume? Hiring managers would rather see information about an internship or relatable job experience in that space. Consider leaving your GPA off your resume as well, unless you are a recent graduate. Use this space to highlight your education and experience as it relates to the job you are applying for.

An Outdated Email Address

Is the email address on your resume the same one you have had since high school? Using an up-to-date service provider, and a professional sounding email address shows employers and recruiters that you are in touch with technology.
