Environmental health scientists strive to understand how environmental exposures affect human health and disease, and how human activities affect the environment. We study the interaction of environmental and human health, specifically within areas of microbiology, toxicology and exposure science. Graduate degree options include the master of public health, which provides a broad background in public health and professional practice within the environmental health sciences; the master of science, a research-based degree with a required thesis; the highly specialized academic research-based Ph.D.; as well as a dual doctoral degree option in epidemiology and environmental health sciences.
